C.O. 207

Enclosure 2 35296

RECS

REGS 24 SEP 03

ATTORNEY GENEBAL'S OFFICE.

Hongkong,

12th August,

190 2

Report on Ordinance No. 12 of 190.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

An Ordinance to amend The Foreshores and Sea Bed Ordinance

No.31. of 1801, and to repeal sub-section (1) of section 1 of

Ordinance No.11 of 1903

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to

the Governor's Instructions.

The Ordinance gives effect to the suggestion in

paragraph 4 of 0.0.D. No.33 of 18th March 1003 by reducing the

period of notice required by the first proviso to section 3 of

Ordinance o.21 of 1901 from three months to one month.

The reduction is desired because it has been found

unnecessary and inconvenient in practice to require such a long

period of notice as three months to be given before the Governor

can grant Orown Leases of Foreshore or Sea Bed.

Henry L. Rechelay

Attorney General.
